Other Details: YSC Central Ohio offers an ongoing facilitated support group addressing the unique concerns of young women diagnosed with breast cancer. Our goal is to help members find the tools and resources to live with purpose and joy as they face the challenges of cancer.

Event: Look, Listen and Feel Lymphedema Care Class

Date: Tuesday, February 14

Other Details: An Invitation for Breast Cancer Survivors, Family, and Friends. 

Look- Learn to recognize any early signs of lymphedema and how to reduce your risk for lymphedema. You will discuss who may benefit from wearing a compression sleeve

Listen- to our expert nurses Carla Powell and Catherine Shade as they discuss what lymphedema is, how to prevent it from occurring and techniques you may use to control symptoms

Feel- you will learn how to do Manual Lymph Drainage Exercises to help move your lymph fluid

Other Details: Presented by Dr. Patricia Stafford, of WellnessReSolutions will include an overview of the modalities which can be used to improve overall health, well-being and functioning. She completed a two-year Fellowship in Integrative Medicine with Andrew Weil,MD; who is internationally known as a pioneer for his expertise in the mind/body connection. Please join us as Dr. Stafford shares information about the personal resources available for seeking nutritional information, stress reduction techniques, and optimal health through lifestyle changes. Additionally, Dr. Stafford is aware of the unique issues faced by a breast cancer diagnosis; as she worked many years as a radiologist. A light dinner will be provided. Other Details: Are you ready for your fun and relaxing girls' night in? We're partnering with Haven of Hope for a fun night with Pure Romance. During this interactive session, we will talk about how you can recapture your most sensual self-during and after your cancer treatment-with the help of Pure Romance, one of the nation's largest advocates for women's sexual health. Explore “creative ways” to develop and enhance intimacy in your relationship. Light refreshments provided .

Other Details: This event is to provide free mammograms to the uninsured and underinsured who qualify in Fairfield, Hocking and Perry Counties. Limited spaces available. Must have an appointment!!

Second Opinion Clinic at OhioHealth
Supported with a community health grant from Komen Columbus, the OhioHealth Second Opinion Clinic is held at Riverside Hospital and provides women a free second opinion on diagnosis and treatment. A group of multi-specialty physicians and professionals will meet with the patient to review her case and offer a comprehensive perspective before she decides on a treatment plan. Women diagnosed with breast cancer in Central Ohio who would like a second opinion before treatment are eligible. To make an appointment, call 1-800-752-9119 or 614-566-4321.
