Television
  • Approximately 157 stories ran about the Komen Columbus Race for the Cure from April 12 through May 17 yielding more than $108,000 in advertising equivalencies.
  • All Columbus television stations covered the Komen Columbus Race for the Cure extensively. Highlights included a survivor phone bank during the 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. news hours on 10TV, NBC4 live coverage from the Race and Newsmakers interview with Carol Luper on ABC
  • 10TV, NBC4 and ABC all ran public service announcements at least three weeks leading up to the Race

Radio
Media tours and interviews were conducted to generate interest in the LeVeque Tower lighting (and remind people that they can now register for the Race) and as a last-minute push for Race attendance. We interviewed with the following stations at least twice in the month leading up to the Race:
  • QFM (Wags & Elliott show)
  • K95 (Tyler Jacobs in the morning)
  • CD101 (Joe Weasel and Brian Phillips morning show)
  • 97.1 (Mark Dantzer, afternoon drive; JT and company morning show)
  • Sunny 95 (Dino and Stacy in the morning)
  • Smooth Jazz (Tricia Moore, morning show host)
  • Oldies (Hunter and Hagar in the morning)
  • WTVN-AM (Bob Conners in the morning)
  • 93.3 Lite FM (Shawn and Starkey in the morning)
  • PSAs ran on several stations

Other
Komen Columbus Race for the Cure was able to secure the following:
  • 6 billboards from ClearChannel Outdoor
  • ADTV (Arena District TV) ran 10TV’s PSA the week leading up to the Race; prior to that, it ran a billboard that we provided with sponsor thank you information
