Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.

How to Apply for Funding

Seventy-five percent of the money raised by the Komen Columbus Affiliate stays in Central Ohio to support organizations that offer education, treatment and screening to local residents, particularly who are uninsured or medically under-served in the following counties:

Athens, Champaign, Clark, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Gallia, Guernsey, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Madison, Marion, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Union, Vinton, Washington

Please note the following:
• Applicants must provide evidence of non-profit status.
• Applications may be made to support either new or established programs.
• Applicants must provide one original and fifteen (15) copies of the grant application to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Columbus Affiliate, Grants Committee, Komen Columbus, 855 Grandview Ave, Suite 250 , Columbus, Ohio 43215. Electronic submission of your proposal is also required. Electronic proposals should be sent by November 12, 2009 to outreach@komencolumbus.org
• Deadline for receipt of proposals is November 12, 2009.

 

Qualifications: Applications are accepted from non-profit institutions: U.S. citizenship or residency is not required.

Applications must be submitted in English.

Applicant organizations must be located and/or providing services within any of the following Ohio counties which make up our service area.
